Cape Town City Sack Coach Muhsin Ertugral

After only two months on the job, Muhsin Ertugral has been sacked as the interim head coach of Cape Town City FC.
Back in January, the Citizens announced that Ertugral would replace Eric Tinkler as their coach, albeit on a temporary basis. He was also appointed as the club’s technical director.
According to a club statement released on Tuesday, 18 March, the 65-year-old Turkish tactician had mutually agreed to part ways with City effective immediately.
“After technical discussions, the club and Muhsin Ertugral have agreed mutually to part ways,” the statement reads. “The decision comes as a collective in the best interest of the club as we look to end the 24/25 season as strong [sic] as possible.
“We thank Muhsin for his professional and earnest contribution.”
Under Ertugral’s management, City played 14 matches: this resulted in eight losses, three wins and three draws. As such, they are sitting in 13th place in the Premier Soccer League rankings, hovering just two spots above the relegation zone.
City’s new coach and technical director have to be confirmed.
